I was on all types of pain medications to get relief for only a couple of hours, until Percocet, an opioid. My pain was relieved for hours at a time. There was an issue though. It was my liver.
According to my doctor and WebMD, “Opioid drugs work by binding to opioid receptors in the brain, spinal cord, and other areas of the body. They reduce the sending of pain messages to the brain and reduce feelings of pain.”
The problem becomes the potential side effects.
